The Teesdale Triathlon is one of the most popular events on the North-East calendar. It is based at Teesdale Leisure Centre, Barnard Castle DL12 8DS and consists of a 400m (16 lengths) pool swim, followed by an 18-mile cycle route through scenic Teesdale. The event concludes with a three-mile, off-road run. In 2016, the event was named as British Triathlon North-East Race of the Year.
Early entries are recommended as the race normally sells out ahead of the official closing date.
The race is ideal for beginners and experienced triathletes alike. Those new to triathlon will be able to take advantage of several free Go Tri events in the build-up to this year's race. These will contain some mini race tasters, plus advice on transitons etc.
The event begins at 8am at the Leisure Centre. Start times are based on predicted swim times. Those with slower times will be in the earlier swim waves and the faster swimmers will set off later. It is very important to supply us with an accurate prediction of your swim time. You can always update this, if necessary, nearer to the event.
