This exciting new cycle sportive forms part of the 2018 Beverley Family Bike Fest.
The Beverley Bikeathon Challenge gives you a range of distance options to suit cyclists of all abilities. Our four distinct routes all feature beautiful roads around the East Riding of Yorkshire with the event start point in the market place of the historic town of Beverley.
All routes will be fully sign posted with marshals, feed stations, medical backup and mechanical assistance. Each route will finish back where you started, in Beverley Market Place where all riders will receive a commemorative event medal. The sportive will also be covered by local radio station Viking FM as part of the Beverley Family Bike Fest.
All routes start in Beverley Market Place and proceed out through the North Bar before heading across the Westwood. Specific route details can be found on the event website.
Route 1 - 75 Miles - Beverley Monster
This tough route is for the experienced rider looking for a challenge that will push them hard. Several challenging short climbs along with long drags will sap your speed, but you’ll be rewarded by cycling through some of the best countryside in the East Riding. The route will feature two feed stations.
Route 2 - 50 Miles - Beverley Masher
This route will be a decent challenge for most riders. It follows many of the same roads as the longer route, but will appeal to those looking for a slightly shorter day in the saddle. The countryside and scenery remains some of the best in this part of the country and you can refuel at our two feed stations.
Route 3 - 20 Miles - Beverley Miler
Perhaps you are new to the sportive scene, in the early stages of your cycling development or simply prefer a slightly shorter route. Then our Beverley Miler could be for you. Over the 20 mile route you will experience some great scenery along roads to the west of the Beverley before your encounter the fearsome Trundlegate climb. The return to the town centre is largely downhill so you will be able to enjoy your ride and savour your achievement. Villages visited on the route include Bishop Burton, North Newbald and Walkington, with a feed station at the halfway point.
Route 4 - 8 Miles - Beverley Mini-Star
The Beverley Mini-Star Route features a loop that takes riders across the Westwood and on to the beautiful village of Bishop Burton before heading back through Walkington and the reward of a downhill ride through the Westwood back into the Market Place for the town centre finish. This route is intended for those new to cycling sportive events, families and younger riders. The route features a feed station and some other fun elements to ensure you enjoy your day in the saddle.
All riders aged 15 and under on event day must be accompanied by an adult.
All riders 16-17 on event day must have parental permission to ride.
All riders 17 and under on event day must have their Parental Consent Form completed and handed in at the event.
All routes are open for entry but we would recommend that parents/younger riders fully consider their abilities and experience before opting for the longer routes.
