The Winter Wobble 2020 Only 163 days to go!
Officially voted "Colchester’s Premier riverside based, drinking related, running race with a wintry seasonal theme” at the Long Brew awards 2017 and 2018, Long Brew Running Club are proud to announce the third Winter Wobble will be held on Saturday 19th December at 10:30am 2019. The races take place at Ye Olde Albion Inn, Rowhedge, Colchester.
This is a light trail race with an option of either the 5 or 10 mile routes and festive fancy dress is encouraged. There are two distances to choose from; 5 or 10 miles and we also offer a non-alcoholic version. There really is something for everyone. Run it as a serious 5 mile trail race or run is as a tipsy Elf, the choice is all yours.
Embracing the spirit, and indeed the spirits of Christmas, runners will warm up their little souls by enjoying a drink on the start line, again at halfway, and wrap proceedings up by finishing their third drink at the finish. There may also be surprises and forfeits along the route to keep runners on their toes.
With a choice of traditional winter drinks and a fun festive vibe this is the perfect way to really get into the Christmas party mood. Not only that but you can make a fool of yourself here and not risk losing your job or photocopying your naughty bits. Mainly because we couldn't source a photcopier.
As always this is brought to you entirely by unpaid volunteers and any profits go in to our annual fundraising pot and split between three charities that have played an important part in the organisers lives: "Essex and Herts Air Ambulance", "Team2gether" and "Small is beautiful (Africa)".
Our much prized hand crafted medals are sourced from a refugee camp in the Sahara, enabling us to raise for four great causes in a fun way and giving you a truly unusual race experience.
