Welcome to Long Crendon Steeple to Steeple Challenge
The Long Crendon Steeple-to-Steeple Challenge takes place on Sunday, 23rd June 2019.
This is a challenging 5-mile/7km footrace for ages 16+, attracting a variety of runners and walkers.
The course begins at St Mary's Church in Long Crendon, following footpaths past historic Notley Abbey to St Nicholas' church in Chearsley and back again past the River Thame. The race is almost entirely off-road, with narrow sections, stiles, ditches, bridges, a level crossing and several steep hills.
The race begins with a special peal of bells from the bellringers at St Mary's to set off the first runners at 10:30am. The challenge is to return to the churchyard in time for the next peal of bells at 11:15.
If you have any questions about the race, email the race director, Ed Chipperfield.
