Team COCO Summer BBQ 5k, 7:00pm, Tuesday 30th May 2017.

5k fun run event along the riverbanks in Durham City. Start and finish near the race HQ at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Durham, DH1 3JU.

The course has a variety of surfaces including tarmac and riverside trail path. Suitable for all abilities, from club runners to first timers. Age 11+. Unfortunately our course is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs and dogs are not permitted in the run. Fancy dress welcome!

After the race, join us for a BBQ meal at the Rowing Club. Book your BBQ meal tickets for you (and your supporters) in advance to ensure you don’t miss out! (Note that advance BBQ orders close at noon on Wednesday 24th May). The BBQ ticket cost includes ¼ lb Butchers burger, Butchers thick pork sausage, baked potato, grated cheese, homemade coleslaw, salad garnish & sauces, bread rolls & butter. Race participants and supporters will have use of the bar, and there will also be a raffle and bingo after the prize presentations. Race presentations at ~8.15 pm. There will be cash sales at the BBQ for anyone not holding an advance meal ticket (from around 8.15pm).

All money raised goes to the COCO (Comrades of Children Overseas) charity (see http://www.coco.org.uk/ ). COCO provides sustainable sources of quality education to children living in poor and marginalised communities.

Online entries close at midnight on Sunday 28th May 2017 or when the race limit has been reached (300). Entries will be available on the day (+ £2 per entry) if race limit (300) has not been reached.

Unfortunately, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs or push chairs. Dogs are not permitted in the race.

Registration: from 5:45 pm at Race HQ (Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Durham, DH1 3JU.

Car parking: no parking at the rowing club (except for race officials). There is plenty of on-road parking around Green Lane which is free after 6pm. Or use the city centre car parks and walk down Old Elvet to get to Race HQ. Please note that the adjacent University car park is permit only. Please park considerately to prevent jeopardising future events.
