Registration will take place at the Melrose Rugby Club, The Greenyards, Melrose TD6 9SA. There is very limited parking in the club grounds but there is another car park less than 2 minutes walk away at St Dunstans Park.
This year the registration and after race buffet will be in the main hall. No showers will be available for this event.
Registration is open from 9.15am to 10am with a short briefing followed by the 10 minute walk to the start line at the disused Melrose Railway Station.
The route follows an anti clockwise direction, flat 1st mile followed by a tough uphill 2nd mile where the fittest runners will be able to run it all. After that it is a long gradual downhill followed by a left turn heading into the conservation village of Bowden, the half way point where a water station will be placed. The final 4 miles are undulating with a short trail run at the 7 mile mark. Look out for the sting in the tail.
Runners are encouraged to wear festive outfits to run - The best one will receive an additional small prize.
Spot prizes at the finish line.
All finishers will receive some goodies instead of a medal. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female runners will receive prizes at the finish line. You are then invited back to the clubrooms to enjoy a hot drink and small bufffet.
Bone conductor headphones are allowed in line with Scottish and UK Athletics but please be mindful of listening to any marshal instructions during the event.
No refunds and no defferals.
In the event of adverse weather conditions - snow/ice - the event will be cancelled. An alternative date will be given if possible. If not, your entry will carry forward to the same event in 2019/20. No refunds will be given.
This year we will be supporting One Step Borders CIC who work with young people and families in the Scottish Borders to support young people who are experiencing emotional or mental health pressures.
