Entries are now open for the annual Brianplant Sting in the Tail 10k Race!
The event, to be held on Sunday 5th July 2020 at 10am, is hosted by Caistor Running Club and features excellent views of the Lincolnshire countryside as well as a finish line set in the Towns’ historic market place.
Building on the success of last year’s sell-out race, organisers are hoping they can attract the biggest field yet to take on the 10k course. The race is well known locally for its carnival atmosphere and friendly marshals but if that’s not enough to tempt you into lacing up your trainers then how about a Lincolnshire sausage and a beer at the finish line to push you through the pain barrier?
The increasingly popular event is now in its 9thYear and has become a highlight in the Caistor calendar.
The name of the race may give a slight hint as to what’s in store for runners and those who know the town well will know there are a few undulations in the final part of the race. However, with the live music in the market place and the spectator lined streets you will hardly notice the hills as you cover the final 3 kilometres to reach the finish line.
If that’s all just a bit too much there will also be a fun run for the younger runners or those not feeling quite up to the full 10k. This will also start and finish in the market place and all entrants will receive a medal and goody bag.
Both events are open to all abilities of runners, whether you are seasoned club runner looking to challenge yourself or a first timer wanting to achieve your very first race completion. You will find this to be one of the friendliest and most welcoming races in the area and with a club motto of Run for Fun what else would you expect?!
Entries and more information can be found on the Caistor Running Club website www.caistorrunningclub.com and by following us on twitter and facebook
To help encourage you, for every 10 on-line entries we receive from the same club we will refund 1 place. The organisers will then present these refunds as spot prizes during race registration, based upon the entrant's club.
