Following a swim of 400m in the indoor pool at Teesdale Leisure Centre, competitors will tackle the 18-mile cycle route. This proceeds to Staindrop alomg the A688 and continues in an anti-clockwise direction over the testing and scenic morrland route over the B6279 to Folly Top. Then follows a long and fast descent along the B6278 back to the Leisure Centre. The run route starts at the back of the Leisure Centre and follows public footpaths, crossing the trackbed of the former Darlington-Barnard Castle railway and heads north to Stainton. The return route takes in the footpath alongside the A688 towards the finish at the side of the Leisure Centre. Prizes are in the standard BTF race categories: first three male and female in the open race,; first junior male and female (ages 16-19); first male and female veterans in the following age groups: Over-35; Over-40; Over-45; Over-50; Over-55, Over-60. There are additional prizes for competitors tackling their first triathlon. Please be sure to supply your estimated swim time for 400 metres. If you are a member of the British Triathlon Federation, please indicate on this form and bring a copy of your current licence to registration on the day of the event.
